I like the idea of Captains picking teams! it's a lot better that way i think!...also ...with the Six Singles and two doubles... would it be doubles at the end ..or break them up? such as: Doubles, single, single, single, doubles, single single single... or in some other fashion...just thinking if it goes to a deciding game would you really want it to be doubles that clinches it in the end?...hopefully come down tonight for the meeting!

Shrewsbury Premier Darts League will start on Friday Nights September 2010 We have 9 teams, but we will start with 10. The teams are Anchor Frankwell Crown Belvidere Compasses Bayston Hill Bricklayers Charles Darwin Red Castle Admiral Duncan Compasses Ditherington and hopefully The Brooklands. Every team has more than 10 players signed on already. 501, 6 singles 2 doubles, 3 dart averages, Individual League. Singles Comps, Doubles Comps, may even throw in a charity night, Going to be the players league, with every team having a committee member, it will be them who decides how the league will be run. Individual League At the end of the season we will have playoffs. Top 1 to 16 players in group A 17-32 in Group B 33-48 in Group C 49-64 in Group D So you will play against players of a similar standard and give everyone a chance of a cash prize. Going out on a limb here. This will be the best league to play in. If other leagues arent happy then make them better than this and the players will be the winners. Its about the players not the organisers. First committee meeting will be in few weeks. Game On

Alright mate, thanks for the message.
I think you'll find that all the teams on a friday (expect one) are different. The people that voted 301 arent playing on a friday.
Fingers crossed it goes well. I think we have everything in place, nearly. I can see why new leagues arent set up everyday, a lot of work goes into it before a dart can be thrown.
Bank Accounts, Rules, new forms etc etc.
Bring it on

Duncan 6 - Redcastle 2
Good first night of Premier Darts. Great banter and some good games with the Duncan edging it with good finishing.
Three 180's hit on the night, one each for Nick Pritchard and Dave Beesty for the Duncan, and one for Rich Leah? (think that was his name!) for the Castle.
Player of the night Dave Price winning both singles and doubles with an average just over 26 in his singles finishing first dart both legs, which pleased Budge cos it made his averages look a bit better!
