I have just been to the Compasses Bayston Hill for a doubles match to find out that the pair we were due to play haven't turned up and haven't had the decency to let the I.C. know. I experienced the very same thing a few weeks back in the singles competition. I understand that in order to progress to the next round you need to turn up. However It is really frustrating to psyche yourself up for a match to find out that you don't need to play.
Would it not be an idea to ban any player(s) that failed to turn up for these competitions for the same competitions next season? Of course if the player(s) inform the I.C. prior to the game and have a genuine reason then they could be exonerated.
