Doubles Results from Friday are on website.
A few shocks or perhaps not, looking at it there are no easy games in the Premier League.

Premier Darts League. The season only has 4 weeks to run and my thoughts are starting to think about next season. We have had 2 applications to join next season. A team from Wem and one in Shrewsbury. I have had informal enquiries from 3 other sources ?? Could there be interest in running a Championship division (nice title) this would be run on the same lines as the premier but I suppose at a slightly lower standard of darts. Prize money would be very good and the league would be run with the same high standards as the Premier.... Nobody really replies through the forum, but I'd be interested to hear from the Premier League Players what their thoughts are? Other suggestions..... Start the league earlier says early August so it doesn't clash with the Mondays so much (Not sure about that one!) Change the individual league table rulings... Cant put all the suggestions but there are quite a few to say the least.... (Not sure about that one either!) Home team puts their names down first so the away team can pick who they play. (Im really not sure about this one!!) Lots of other suggestions which is good shows that people care..... Its your league you make the rules.... The Six Nominations for Players Player of the Year are...... 1) Steve Rowlands 2) Vaughan Owens 3) Glyn Thomas 4) Jim Elsey 5) Soxy 6) Mark Pritchard There will be a runner up prize and winners prize probably the best award you could receive from your fellow players.... Other awards to be handed out on the evening.. Best Dressed Player.... Best Hairstyle ...... Most improved player........ Best lookalike........... Moaner of the year....... Lowest Average of the Year....... And a special feature in the finals night programme.... A Packed evening to say the least......

Nice ideas Neil, I would like to suggest one for the play offs that have just been played. My idea is to see a 2 legs home and away with the team who finish first the Belvidere against 4th place Compasses Dith first leg is at the Compasses and the second leg at the Belvidere it also makes getting the home draw in the second leg more important through league form.Plus points both pubs get business, something different and exciting. If the scores are level after 16 legs a sudden death leg whole team(6 singles players) 1001 or each team pick a player. On the other front it could be all over the first leg but i think its worth a go.

This is already a great league but I would welcome any change if everybody agreed. These are my opinions:
1) Singles games to be best of 5 legs. 2) I don't see the point in the team play-offs, the league winners should win the league, not have to play 2 more games to get the trophy. 3) I would be in favour of the league starting at a different time of year. Those that play Mondays and enter the SDDL knockouts on Thursdays are playing 3 times a week some weeks. 4) The individual league table rankings should be done on games won and then average as it rewards good play and not who turns up the most weeks but keep the required number of games to 16 games (depending on the number of games to be played.)
Whatever changes do or don't happen, we should be grateful we have a good bloke in Neil running it for us and I for one am very grateful for the effort that he puts in.

I'd only want a couple of minor tweaks. Wouldn't change anything about the actual games: singles, doubles, best of 3, same format.
Firstly, I'd switch the play-off semis from neutral venues to the venue of the highest placed team, because they've earned the advantage.
And the Individual League I think should be settled on wins, then average if level, rather than wins then games played. I see where it's coming from currently, with the incentive to turn up every week, but the minimum games at about 80% means everyone who qualifies for the table is committed.
Definitely against switching time of the year. You can't get people to commit every Friday over the summer, with holidays and all that. And really don't see how starting in August'd make any difference.. it'd still clash for most of the season? For me, it's up to each individual how many times a week they're playing.
I think you'd need to be careful with extending too far. Two leagues'd be fine, but each pub and team needs to be equally committed, and you'd need at least 20 of them.

Agree with Hippo.Just want a few minor tweaks a,Stick at best of 3 not 5 because of time unless you start at 7-30 or 8pm but with people finishing work they wouldnt be able to get there for that time. b,Keep the cups as it is where the likes of the Woodie last year winning the cons it was a great night for us all.As stu said it wasnt about the money about lifting that cup.It also gives the smaller teams a chance of winning not just the same teams all the time. c,I love the friday nights 501 leave it where it is throu the winter. In the summer you got the frankwell league and as hippo said holidays. If people want to play 3 nights a week ITS THEIR CHOICE.I play just on a friday THAT IT MY CHOICE. d,Just be careful about 2 leagues i think we have got it just right.Every week we know were we are playing ,some teams may not be committed so we then have free weeks which cant be good for the league.

Totally agree with Hippo, Individual league should be based on most wins then average. (must play 75% of games) and the league should not be starting in august. Best of 3 legs is fine with me. Never really understood the reason behind the play-off to be honest, you should finish where you finish in the league come last game of season. On the application side of things, I understand Sports and social from Wem has applied to enter. This might have a big impact on the future of Red Castle, 4 of there players are from wem including myself. I'm fully committed to Red Castle but if the other lads decide to leave as its less traveling for them then this would leave Red Castle short of players and possibly folding which would mean the other sides in the league having to travel further to play there game of darts. Just a point to think about. Other then that the league is run superb and your doing a great neil.

Best of three all the way for me best of five could make for some long nights. Individual league should favor the player that's played more games. Iam not in favor of starting league earlier for the reasons stubbsy and hippo have said I don't want two leagues either. Home players to put names down first to show away team?? Don't get that in anyway. The play offs I don't really like but give the higher finishing team home advantage but still play one game not home and away. I would like to see first round of singles and doubles played mid season maybe instead of everything at the end A team from wem joining.... I would be concerned it may make it difficult for the Red Castle to continue in the league. But apart from that what if a team from telford or oswestry apply to join? How far do you want to travel on a Friday night? Love the league tho,Friday 501 all the way

I would suggest
No games in December - Fridays and Saturdays and full of xmas parties and people with Kids may have Xmas lights being turned on! and teams do struggle to raise sides.
With regards giving games away, i think you should be able to rearrange a maximum of two games and that they have to be played on the Wednesday before if both sides agree.
Not much else to be changed, but happy to hear everyones thoughts on a few tweaks!

Some really interesting ideas.... really appreciated. 6 singles 2 doubles best of 3 leg really works going best of 5 not sure ? It has been mentioned before, best of 5 between two of the best players Yes but two players in mid table could turn into a marathon with all due respect. Playoffs... essential to the league as we don't have promotion and relegation. Totally agree with Stubbsy the Woodman's victory last season in the consolation final was superb and to see how much it meant to them they have to stay. Perhaps change the top of the table... winners of the league are champions No games in December? Perhaps play the first round of the singles and doubles before xmas.... this will bring finals night nearer to the end of the season. But not all of December... you have a clear choice xmas party or darts. Rearrange games from a Friday? WE ARE A FRIDAY NIGHT LEAGUE! again you have a choice play darts or do something else... We play for some serious money at the top of the table and it must be taken seriously... So a couple of lads have a weekend away.. should a team rearrange a game? They have a choice. Saying that I think we probably need to be more flexible... I think a team who want to change a fixture must first put it in writing say 4 weeks before fixture giving the reasons why they want to change the date of the fixture. The rearranged game must be played before the original date.. say the Wednesday before.. their opponents must agree without any pressure from the other team. Then every team should have a vote to decide that the teams can change the date. Bringing forward the start of the season ? That's a complete NO in my view. We are a winter league end of. If players want to play three nights a week that's a personal choice. Division 2. Have listen to the comments and have to agree with the majority. BAD IDEA. Yes perhaps extend to 14 teams that's about it! If any new application has an impact on any of our members then under no circumstances should they be allowed in the league. It's a really nice to see the comments thanks very much. Game On.
